Between 2013-2022 I have been a concertmaster at the Duisburg Philharmonic and Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf Duisburg. In the meantime I have been an active soloist and chamber musician. Because of the paradox monotony of our profession in many occasions, I have also been taking part at eccentric events and organising such concerts and festivals myself. I strongly believe, that we musicians need to be more in contact with different artistic subjects and scenes, question everything and be critical even more than ever. This is a fundamental goal for me while teaching:Since 2016, I have been holding a teaching position at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen and additionally since 2021 at the Royal Conservatory of the Netherlands in The Hague. In this short time of teaching I can be happy about the successes of my students who could win permanent positions in German orchestras, as well as prizes.
I still think it needs more than that: we need a generation of innovative, creative and free- minded musicians, not only in the freelancing scene but also in the orchestras. For this reason I strive to develop the traditional violin lesson. In my understanding the musicians of today have to form proactively their own careers.
The mission, vision and the core values of both the Folkwang University of Arts and the Royal Conservatoire The Hague present unique places for my ideals.
